Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?
I’ve seen so many cool Smart Mirror projects and decided to finally build myself one.
Here are few of my inspirations:

HARDWARE SETUP
Install the Pi board into the case. Press on the dimpled tab to release the lid. Insert the board edge with the HDMI connector first, then press down the GPIO side of the board until it snaps.
Insert the microSD card with an operating system installed on it into the card slot. See the ‘Operating Systems’ section to the right if you need an OS.
Connect a USB keyboard and mouse. Most wireless keyboards and remotes work perfectly with Raspberry Pi.
Connect one or two displays using a micro-HDMI to HDMI cable. Make sure each display is on, connected to the Pi, and set to the correct input before powering the Pi board.
Plug in the USB-C power adapter. The red LED on the Pi indicates power, and the green light indicates processing activity as the Pi boots and functions. Check your SD card if there’s no green light activity.
Connect a LAN cable or join a WiFi network.
What You’ll Need
With new board models, there are always a few items that become incompatible and need to be replaced. Here’s a list of items that you’ll need if you purchase a Pi 4B board. Note that these are included in many of our kits, and that you can save a bit of money by buying them in kit form.

Choose the version with the amount of memory for your needs. Is your Pi for a low-power monitoring application, or is it running multiple demanding tasks at once?

An Operating System
The new processor configuration requires an updated OS released after June 24, 2019. Raspbian is always the first to be available, and others will soon follow. Here are links to download different OS’s or to purchase them pre-loaded.

A Case
Because of port changes on two edges of the Pi 4B, previous Pi cases from any earlier board won’t be compatible. Here are several Pi 4 cases that are already available.

A Micro-HDMI Adapter or Cable
To connect the micro-HDMI ports to a display, either use a micro-HDMI adapter and existing HDMI cable, or a micro-HDMI to HDMI cable.

A Power Supply
As we mentioned earlier, previous micro-USB power supplies should work well with the Pi 4B, unless many peripherals are being used. You can also purchase the higher-current USB-C power supplies listed below.
